About Shimatabi Yachts
Shima (n.) - Island in Japanese; a landmass surrounded by water.
Tabi (n.) - Journey in Japanese; an act of traveling from one place to another.
Shimatabi Yachts has been in business since 2020, currently operating with two hand-built beaching catamarans built locally in the island town of Kamijima, Japan.
Our proven boats provide exclusive access to some of Japan’s uninhabited islands and hidden beaches and has been popular with a wide variety of tourists and businesses looking connect with nature in an eco-friendly, meaningful way.

About our fleet
Our two boats are 27ft (8.5m) long multihull yachts (catamarans).
Legendary yacht designer James Wharram was inspired by traditional Polynesian fishing boats to design these vessels.
Compared to ordinary sailing yachts, our boats "Asanagi" and "Yūnagi" have the following characteristics
